What is Microbiology Analysis?
Microbiology analysis involves identifying and quantifying microbiological contaminants in cannabis material using advanced testing methods. This testing is crucial for verifying that products are free from harmful microorganisms and meet quality standards.
Benefits of Our Microbiology Analysis
- High Accuracy: Advanced technology ensures precise and reliable identification and quantification of microorganisms.
- Quick Turnaround: Fast processing times to keep your production on track.
- Expert Analysis: In-depth reports with expert guidance on addressing any issues.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensures your products comply with all relevant regulations and standards.
Our Microbiology Analysis Process
At Novacann Labs, we follow a detailed Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) to identify microbiological contaminants in cannabis samples. Our process includes:
- Sample Preparation: Proper collection and preparation of samples to avoid contamination.
- Dehydrated Culture Plates: Using 3M Petrifilm plates to quantify E. coli and total yeast and mold.
- Pathogen Confirmation: Confirming pathogens with serological tests for accuracy.
- Colony Enumeration: Utilizing Violet Red Bile (VRB) nutrients and indicators for precise colony counting.
- Selective Reagents and Nutrients: Using CompactDry SL Salmonella test dishes for selective identification of Salmonella spp.
Quantified Microorganisms
- E. coli: Quantified using 3M Petrifilm, identified by blue colonies with trapped gas.
- Total Yeast and Mold: Quantified using 3M Petrifilm, identified by color indicators for yeast and mold enumeration.
Semi-Quantified Microorganisms
- STEC: Semi-quantified using Latex Serology for pathogen confirmation.
- Salmonella spp.: Semi-quantified using CompactDry / Latex Serology, identified by black or green colonies with yellow culture medium.
